Experience a small ‘global’ village
Argens is populated mostly by French residents, bien sur – 334,
to be exact. But there’s also a handful of people from Belgium,
Germany, Great Britain and the United States who live here part-time,
making the village quite cosmopolitan.
|
Shop for ‘petit dejuener’
At Christine's convenience store in the 'centre ville' of Argens.
Fresh bread and croissants, as well as lunch selections and other
grocery items, are only a three-minute walk from LPC.
|
Enjoy lunch or dinner
On the banks of Le Canal du Midi (April through September) at the
village’s friendly and informal La Guinguette. Or owners and
chef Lisa and Ed at La Fourchette Folle (The Crazy Fork) in the neighboring
village of Roubia.
|
Have a drink, meet the ‘locals’ . . .
Guests have a chance to meet villagers and visitors at the quaint neighborhood bar, La Troubador, which is about a one-minute walk from LPC. Monsieur Gilbert, the charming proprietor who always wears a smile, tends vineyards by day and pours local vintages, as well as a variety of other drinks, by night.
|
See the ‘animals of Argens’
Visitors to LPC might also cross paths with “Mambo”, the neighbor’s pet goat, as well as a few friendly dogs, cats, and chickens. A walk around the village may offer a glimpse of mule or horse – or even camel – when the circus comes to town in August!
